Punkin had to go to the UNM Urgent Care. He had a fever this morning and I gave him some acetaminophen, but when he woke up from his afternoon nap, the fever was back and getting higher. Jonathan took him. They cleaned out his ears and his doc (his regular doc, which we have an appt with on Fri), thought it was an ear infection. the ear specialist however told her that he did not. So we got a scrip for ibuprofen, and were told that if the fever does not let up by tomorrow evening, we are to bring him back. I just feel awful. I should have taken him this morning, but I thought it was maybe just teething issues. I just want to cry.

I would almost think it was, except the fever was so high. I am used to him hitting maybe 100 with teething but this was inching close to 103 and it just freaked me out.
They said it could be an ear infection or a urinary tract infection, but either way it is too early to tell. Now he seems fine.

It is. But he seems fine now. Other than he doesn't seem to want to eat. He ate all of his dinner last night and even had a little bit of seconds. I think he is having a little infection and some teething issues.

Sweety, take it from me, you can't let these things tear you down. It's normal "mommy guilt" as I call it but trust me, there will be way more things to beat yourself up about later on. All babies run fevers from ear infections and teething and whatnot - I remember when Coryn spiked a fever of 106 once. She had rosacia, a mild form of measles. I just thought it was a rash from her new jammies. Man did I feel bad about that. But honestly, you're a good mom. In the end Coryn was fine and so will your babe be. *love you all*
