My best friend from high school decided we can't talk because it is all or nothing, and I can't give him all. I am going to miss him. This hurts.

I don't know the situation, but I do know that anyone who would ask to be put in front of your child, your mother and your partner is not a good friend.

I know it will hurt, and I know you will miss him, but don't be sad that someone who requires more than you can give is out of your life. Perhaps, one day, when he has matured enough to see that your priorities are the right ones then you can be a part of each others lives again.

*sigh* all or nothing demands do not flatter one's character. The choice should never be between being "lovers" and "friends". Sad that one can often feel so tied to someone that one may feel too much pain to be near another without being part of another.
