BENEFIT CONCERT TO RAISE FUNDS TO KEEP THE BLUE DRAGON
AROUND!
THIS WEEKEND SATURDAY JUNE 30th and SUNDAY JULY 1st 2007.
MUSIC ALL DAY FROM 10:30 AM TO 10:30 PM ON SATURDAY AND 11
AM TO 11 PM ON SUNDAY
Albuquerque' s oldest independently owned coffeehouse and
original live music venue is at very real risk of closing
down! The Blue Dragon provides to the community of
Albuquerque a real home to off-beat and avant-garde music
art and dance from around the block and around the country
and around the world, and it serves as a real gathering
place for many local community groups. The loss of The
Blue Dragon would a real blow to our community.
BENEFIT PERFORMERS WILL INCLUDE: FAST HEART MART, RICH
KRUEGER, THE OLD MAIN, CLIDE VS CROCODILES, THE ZOLTAN
TRIO, ALADOCIOUS, SCOTT HELLAND AND THE TRAVELING BAND OF
GYPSIES, THE MINIE GONZALES BAND, CAROL SPIZMAN, MARK
WEAVER, PETER CHASE, DANCE TAHITI, AND MANY OTHERS SPECIAL
GUESTS
SUGGESTED DONATIONS FOR THE BENEFIT ARE FROM $5 to $10 at
the door.
The Blue Dragon is located at 1517 Girard NE at Indian
School
The Blue Dragon has free-Wifi, pool table, and live music
with a great P.A. 7 nights a week! They recycle and
compost their waste and provide a safe place for kids and
teens to hang out. The food and coffees are so delicious,
grown ups like it too! There are board games, and a
library of books to read and exchange.
If you value Albuquerque' s underground D.I.Y. culture and
the spirit of non-chain-store anti-Starbuck' s independent
business, PLEASE show your support during this difficult
time for our beloved Dragon!
Get a pastry and coffee or tea in the morning, they open
at 7AM! Get a slice of pizza or a bowl of vegan soup and
an Italian soda for lunch, or try their incredible
Saturday or Sunday brunch ... always with live music! Drop
by for a wrap or some excellent Louisiana style red beans
and rice and an organic salad for dinner with an espresso
and a slice of gorgeous coconut carrot cake or
strawberry-rhubarb- peach pie or a vegan chocolate mousse!
Come by for Monday Night Live Variety Show, Wednesday
Night Open Mic or any evening for Live Local, Regional and
National original musical acts!
We can't let this little jewel roll down the gutter!
