I have a sausage apple quiche in the oven (actually 2 of them). They don't last long in this house. On my list for today is potato salad, ribs (cooked in my crock pot), and I am sure something else, I just don't know what yet! Maybe some oven roasted corn on the cob. I need to get a grill!

We have 2 fully functional dressers now. The insides of the bathroom cabinets have gotten a coat of paint. The shed is coming along. I don't think we will be able to finish it today, but I may be surprised. The closet is fully functional.

Oh, yes, the tomato plant is so freaking happy. I have to keep that fat-assed quail from eating my tomatoes, though. She has gotten at least one ripe on that I am aware of. I am hoping that maybe she won't go after the rest, but I am afraid that is wishful thinking!

I think that is it for today!

Today was Little Human's 2nd Birthday. He got some nifty little toys. He got a pirate ship, a little garage with a car, a xylophone, and a child sized broom and dustpan (he loves to wander around with the adult versions, and he seemed to like them). Odd child...

I also made some rainbow colored cupcakes with buttercream frosting. These were tasty. He didn't seem all that excited about them, but did eat the frosting. I will be posting pictures of the yummy cupcakes.

Other than that, we didn't do much. We went to Jericho Nursery and bought oodles of plants. I highly recommend them. The staff is almost all from Rowland's. They were helpful and just plain nice people.

I believe it is time for bed now.

Oh, does anyone know where I can locally find the rubber gaskets for wire sealing jars and canisters (Like these)? I have a bunch of them that I want to use for storing dry goods, but the seals need to be replaced! I have found and will order them online if I have to, but I would like to find try to find them locally first.

*sigh*

I was supposed to go to [livejournal.com profile] elegantdreams art opening tonight. She has a fantastic new painting. I was able to see it before it was finished, but we aren't feeling so well around here, so I can't go to the opening.

Instead I am at home feeling icky (tummy), I have a bit of a sunburn, and am making plum freezer jam. I didn't have the energy to get the canning equipment to do it properly, nor do I have the room to do it properly with the kitchen in it's current state. I'll probably have to take up canning next year, once the garden is all set up properly. That wasn't happening this week though! =)

Discovered that a bunch of wood in the backyard will work perfectly to start the herb beds in. We got a Honeysuckle, Mexican Sage, Trumpet Vine, and some Vinca planted today. Still didn't get to the tomato plant, but I will do that tomorrow or Sunday (I hope).

Yum!

Bagel + cream cheese + lox = LOVE!
I had forgotten this. OMG, I want another! I won't do that though.

Tomorrow, I start on the garden bed that goes out front. I have to plant that poor tomato plant in real dirt, before I kill it off. The bed it is going in will end up being mostly herbs, but I think a tomato plant mixed in won't be too bad. I also have to find some thin wood for making my own garden tags. I have a wood-burning tool, might as well put it to use =)

Started gathering the stuff to make the garden journal, but realized that the awesome paper I bought especially for this is still at the old house. *sigh* I made the paper for the last one, but when I still worked at the art store, we got this nifty paper in, and I couldn't resist!

I will probably post the results of the bed building, the tag making, and the garden journal making when I am done.

Also, go look at my last post and please vote on the poll. Not having a name for this house is making me crazy!

Yum!

I went to the wine festival yesterday with [livejournal.com profile] elegantdreams, [livejournal.com profile] darkwench, and attempted to go with [livejournal.com profile] vladmira. The latter was not allowed in due to ID issues beyond her control. The three of us had a lovely time despite the let down at the door! We were kicked out early because of lightning. I managed to get a bottle of cherry wine before we left, but [livejournal.com profile] elegantdreams and [livejournal.com profile] darkwenchleft with noting but the wineglasses.

So, off to Trader Joe's we went. We didn't have nearly enough wine and I promised ~N~ I would buy her a bottle (which I did). We then went back to her house and were rejoined by [livejournal.com profile] vladmira, Joe, Justin, Berney, and Roxanne (before you wonder [livejournal.com profile] ohno_jonathan_o was the designated driver that dropped us off at the festival and picked us up). It ws awesome, and I realized how much I miss my friends when I don't see them often.

Made ribs, potato salad, oven roasted corn on the cob, and biscuits for dinner and am enjoying a lovely wine from TJ's that is quite yummy, and I am feeling it quite a bit! I don't need no stinkin wine festival!

We had a lovely dinner at Taj. I haven't had Indian food in so long and it was just perfect. If I wasn't absolutely sure I would explode, I would go eat more of it. Jonathan got a yummy curry and I got a tandoori sample type thingy. Soo good.

We went and looked at more houses in Rio Rancho today. I really liked the last house, but we'll see.

My happy for today is the delicious lunch at a restaurant in Bernalillo called La Casita. YUMMMM. I got the combo enchilada plate with 1 beef, 1 chicken, and 1 cheese. My cheese enchiladas are better, and the chicken was good but not slap yo mama good, but the beef were excellent. The beans were good (I have a hard time finding places that make beans I like), and the rice was good.
The sopas were tasty and had just the right amount of that yeasty taste. The red chile was the perfect heat and the salsa was also just right. Yep. Yum!

Ok.

I am slightly obsessed with the NORAD Santa Tracker. I don't know why. All I do know is that his flight pattern makes no sense whatsoever and am fascinated about where they will put him next. Please take my internets away now?

Also, i got lazy and watched Polar Express when I should have been making pumpkin cheesecake. Now I have to do it in the morning and I have to go drown my turkey. *sigh* The things we do for yummy food.

Aww

I got a random fact and a cute magnet in the mail. I feel lurved!

{EDIT} Also, Walmart has started carrying Tastykake. Now, most people aren't going to give a crap about this, but mom and I are in piggy heaven. One of the few things we missed about the east coast. Yummmmm...
I just received from [livejournal.com profile] elegantdreams:

"yoplait has a strawberry shortcake yogurt i would happily eat a bucket of it...and i thought everyone should know"

Now I am trying to determine, is this so everyone else can try it, or is that what she wants for her birthday???
And I am nervous. I think I was accidentally rude to my new boss, but it is because I am nervous... and hungry...

That is all.

YAY!

I have chicken salad goodness (thanks to my mommy), and I have Maternity Pants!!! I love jeans, but have been running into the jeans not fitting me now. Now I have jeans that fit me! I also got almost brand new hiking boots (for next year) for $5. I fell in love with a clog. I say a clog because I spent 45 mins at Savers looking for it's mate and never found it. My mom helped me look, other customers helped me look, no right foot clog. *sigh*
I need some sort of black comfy semi-fancy footwear that I can wear at work with my skirts and dresses. I loved the clog because it was in great shape, and at least the left one was comfy...
I also need new sneakers of some sort, but I may just spend the summer/fall in sandals and clogs. Swelling feet and all. *sigh*
I smell coffee and bacon. I would like to have some coffee and bacon. I wish he'd hurry up!!!!

Also, can any of you believe that he had not seen American Beauty yet? GAH! What is the world coming to?

*WOOT*

Jul. 9th, 2006 12:22 pm
It took me FOUR FUCKING HOURS to find it online again...
But there will be Pennsylvania Dutch Potato Salad, made by me, in my house, by the end of the day.

I repeat *WOOT*
My mom has the funniest ideas about things. She thinks that when I tell her Jonathan and I are going out for coffee, that we are actually going to be doing *other stuff*. Sometimes, unfortunately, coffee is just coffee. *sigh*
Amazingly, I went to pick up my paycheck today and discovered, to my surprise, a bonus check. Somehow all of my money issues end up figuring themselves out. I have no idea how this happens, but it almost always does. YAY!
It also allowed me to purchase the new crock pot that I have been wanting for a while now. Also bought a tile cutter. I can also pay all of my bills. WOW! What a concept!

**WOOTY**

I had a really great night. I got to hang out with my [livejournal.com profile] ohno_jonathan_o, listen to Judas{EDIT:Jonas DAMMIT, JONAS}, see [livejournal.com profile] word_whore, aaaaaaand I got to see Heiko!! I haven't seen him for years (my fault). I kept putting it off. The main reason was money. I didn't want to make him pay my way to hang out with him (the whole pseudo-sugar daddy thing just isn't my way of doing things). I was also worried about how comfortable it would be. He is an ex, but he is also a great friend. I regret not doing this sooner. Jonathan was there, and it was really fun. Yay, we can all be fucked up and stupid together!! Good times...
Mmmmmmm... Sausage, Garlic, and Artichoke Hearts Calzone Goodness...mmmmmmmmmm

*sigh*

My boy will be back from Texas today. I am making him food (yummy food. YUMMY I SAY). I am also baking a cheesecake at his house (oven issues, don't ask). I will of course share cheesecake with his room-mates (sorry, no real food, due to finance issues, but I love you!), and as long as I bring some home to mom, everything will be good. I am happy.
I love you all LOTS!!!

ICK!

I almost forgot one of the other things that happened during Thanksgiving. There was this wine. I don't know if they fermented it in old tires, or what, but it left this horrifying aftertaste. Something like rubberized latex (Yes, i would know what that tastes like, *ahem*)
I mean this shit was bad, and no matter what you ate or drank after, the taste kept coming back. ICK!!!
Note to people I love : DO NOT DRINK WINE MADE IN SOUTH AFRICA!!!!

Meow,

Hung out with J. yesterday. We talked and he was like "I don't have to participate in the parties". I still don't think I have any right to tell him that he can't. I don't want him telling me that I can't do stuff that I may want to do. Of course, I wouldn't be doing anything with anyone else that might make him uncomfortable, but that's not the point. I guess that I'm worried that if I tell him I don't want him to participate, that he'll get upset with me, or just eventually resent me for it. He says that won't happen, but I'm not sure that I really believe that.

I'll be honest, I *AM* uncomfortable with it. I don't really want him playing with anyone but me. I like it when we play. I like doing lots of stuff with him. We really talk a lot, but for some reason I can't seem to bring myself to just tell him that I don't like *this*. It's really the only thing I am unhappy with, and I feel really stupid about it. Either I need to be okay with it, or I need to tell him that I'm not. I dunno.

He's going out to Texas this week to get his car, so we won't see each other next weekend at all. It will give me time to get my shit together (i.e. my house!) On another note, he will be reading my lj. That should be interesting. I wonder if he'll post any comments?? Oh, well, I won't change anything for that inevitability. If he doesn't like something that I have to say, he can talk to me about it.

Our one month is on Wed. I don't think we'll be able to get together, but it's nice that he brought it up. He really does make me happy, which kinda freaks me out. It has been so long that I have felt really content in a relationship (I mean other than the playing thing). I always felt like I had to be someone else with other guys for them to like me. i don't feel like that in this relationship. He likes me. He really likes me. (Sorry, stupid moment!)

Memorial Day. MMMMMM. Ribs, homemade potato salad, corn pudding, strawberry shortcake. MMMMMMM. Yummy!

Oh, and Sparklypelt, I will call as soon as I get the phone shit straightened out. I want to talk to you.
